As part of our regular program, the last Thursday of each month is Self-defense night at the dojo, with classes for both children and adults. We focus on developing the skills for students to keep themselves safe and protect themselves in real-life situations.
Our Youth Self-Defense class focuses on preparing our younger students for dealing with all types of bullying as well as street safety against adult threats. From verbal and physical bullying to dealing with strangers, we provide our students with the knowledge, awareness, tools, and practice to stay out of and get out of dangerous situations quickly and safely.
Adult self-defense classes focus on preparing students for realistic street defense situations. This encompasses education on types of violence, legal and ethical issues, awareness and avoidance, as well as physical skills and technical practice in striking, grappling, and ground fighting.
